This flush-style trailer hitch receiver lock is used in place of a standard pin and clip to prevent theft of your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. Now, the neat thing about this is it comes with this adapter sleeve, so that we can actually change the pin diameter from a 5/8 diameter to 3/4" diameter. This is designed to work with hitches that measure up to 3"x3". Really nice design, it'll work for pretty much any hitch out there on the market. This allows you to secure your bike rack, cargo carrier, hitch cover, till bar, ball mount, and even more to your trailer hitch.
Features a traditional flat key design. Looking at nice, durable steel construction, the zinc finishing to resist rust and corrosion, and it does have the dust cap or dust cover that goes over the key slot, keeps dirt and moisture out.Again, this is designed to fit hitches with 3"x3" trailer hitch receivers. It'll also work with 2 1/2" hitches and 2" hitches. Pin diameter is 5/8", but you can convert it to 3/4" when you use the included sleeve. Unlocking is really easy.
You place a key in, give about 1/4 of a turn, that pops out, indicating that it's unlocked. You can take the barrel off, and then that's also when you can remove the included sleeve. So 5/8" diameter, or 3/4" diameter. We got a nice seal here, which protects the lock core. Again, it keeps dirt and grime out of there.
To lock it you don't have to have the key installed, so you can take this, place it on, push it down. Has that audible click so you know that it's locked, and then you place the dust cap on it. Overall length of the unit, I took a measurement from very edge to very edge, got a measurement of around 7 3/8", and then the usable pin length, or the span is 4". That's inside edge to inside edge.
